Laura Moreton-Griffiths

Works: Pastoral Parody

Mis-en-scene

As part of her research Laura began making paintings of pastoral figurines, amongst others, a shepherd with a flute and a shepherdess holding a tambourine. The characters represent an idyll, exaggerated and idealized for aristocratic taste. If the figurines were a true representation of reality what would the countryside of looked like? Laura unveils the parody placing the characters together to draw imagined landscapes.
